Astros will hopefully sweep the Cubs or win the series to salvage a decent home stand. They won 8-4 tonight (bullpen gave up 4 runs).

Bud Norris pitched 7 shutout innings (8 Ks). He's 5-1 with a 3.14 ERA on the season. The Astros have won 8 of his 9 starts this year.

He may win the NL player of the month - going 4-0 with a 0.35 ERA during the month of May but he'll get one more start this month on May 27 at Los Angeles against the Dodgers which have the best record in baseball. So he has a chance to reach 5-0 this month with an ERA under 1 if he pitches well in that game.

Bud Norris is definitely an all-star this year. His fastball has a lot of life, great location on his slider and his changeup is coming starting to come around. All he needed was a reliable third pitch. He could be our Ace next season. I've been real impressed with his development.

Fuck yeah dude he's doing good. I like this houston team.

Astros are playing well. They may take two out of three at Los Angeles. If they win tonight (up 3-0 in the 5th now) they've got a great chance with Bud Norris going tomorrow night. Norris has been the hottest pitcher in all of baseball this month (4-0 with a 0.35 ERA). Norris is trying to cap the NL's player of the month with a win and strong showing tomorrow. Capuano has the advantage over Happ on Sunday, but then again Clayton Kershaw had the advantage over Lucas Harrell tonight and the Astros are leading midway through the game.

What's hot on MLB.com: In May, Bud Norris has been electric. He has four consecutive wins and a Majors-best 0.35 ERA for the month. The Astros are 8-1 in his starts. Norris said he's never had a stretch like this as a Major League pitcher. If he keeps it going he'll make his first all-star appearance.
