He also gave up a lot of home runs the past two seasons but has still managed to keep his career ERA at 3.23. He's never had a losing season before, so I'm expecting a decent 15-11 season ( high-three ERA ) for him this year.
A lot will depend on his run support. Roy Oswalt led all of baseball in no-decisions last year. Houston's offense isn't very good and without Berkman they're going to struggle for the entire month of April.
Houston is also taking a gamble with their new-look bullpen. Matt Lindstrom and Steve Lyons ( new closer and set-up guy ) are replacing Jose Valverde and LaTroy Hawkins. I'm hoping both of those guys succeed otherwise it will be a long season.
A dominating performance out of Roy Oswalt tonight would be encouraging to see.
I'm ready for tonight's game!!!! Play Ball!!!!! I just hope the Giants don't kick our ass, LOL.
You mean Brandon Lyon, lol?
