If they can get rid of Francoeur, that lineup would be beastly.

I actually think the Pirates won this trade, but the Braves didn't exactly lose.

If that makes any sense. Pretty much the trade works for both teams.

Charlie Morton = a fail pitcher, he's already 25 and he hasn't proven anything
Gorkys Hernandez = Juan Pierre at best, and probably won't be as good of a hitter
Jeff Locke = hasn't proven anything yet, he's a roll of the dice

McLouth gives the Braves speed and power (lacked both), and a cornerstone player in CF instead of rotating prospects in and out.
Plus he's locked up at a good price for a few more years.

I don't see what is so special about McLouth. He is rather ordinary, and will be even more-so when he gets moved to a corner OF spot.
inb4Gonchrage

Locke has huge upside too.
Plus your giving too little credit to Gorkys.

He's a 25/25 player, can hit anywhere from leadoff to cleanup, and has a good contract. Best stealing % since 2006.

Juan Pierre is a great player and I think I might be overstating Gorkys by saying he's that good.
