I slept for a few hours. Did you guys already post the Astros and Padres deal being discussed?

Sources: Astros-Padres believed to be working on "something big." They've talked Tyson Ross and Craig Kimbrel. San Diego could use a CF
I don't want to jinx it though. Seems like they were discussing a lot of moving parts. Jake Marisnick (which makes sense now) and even former first overall pick Mark Appel. Hopefully not A.J. Reed. He's the only real power-hitting first baseman and DH "slugger type" we have at the moment in the minor leagues. But with the way things going we'll probably end up dealing Reed.
Seems like the Astros have have been fixated with Craig Kimbrel and Tyson Ross. I didn't think they'd try and add another starter after the Mike Fieres acquisition. I'm still not sure how they can land a stud closer like Craig Kimbrel. Especially with the Yankees and Blue Jays after him.
We already blew two of our sexy prospects in the trade with the Brewers. I'm guessing the Astros will try and land one of those guys. Kimbrel would make our bullpen elite. It's a good bullpen already but closer Luke Gregerson has struggled quite a bit lately. Gregerson doesn't have what I would call "dominating stuff" to blow guys away with ease.
This is what I'd call a closer who can blow you away and pumps you up for the ninth inning...
I'm still a little down we couldn't land Cole Hamels or David Price but this team is pretty damn good, with the core players being very young, regardless. This team is being fueled by three super rookies: Carlos Correa (20 and not even legal to drink a beer yet), Lance McCullers and Preston Tucker.
I just wish we could actually land one of the big fishes in the sea that every team is after, like a Craig Kimbrel. I'll go to sleep again feeling excited only to find out he's been traded to the Yankees or Blue Jays in six or seven hours. LOL, watch...
Carlos Gomez was highly sought after but the Mets didn't even want the two-time all star center fielder. Come on, what's up? They out-bid us for Carlos Beltran after the 2004 season but now they don't want a poor man's Carlos Beltran? His hips were 100 % fine according to the Astros team doctors. He's as healthy as any player the Astros have on their team.
