He did good under them before he got hurt so it makes sense. I never really thought about him as a legit candidate until I saw he was starting tonight and then read Roch's blog a little while ago.

sucks that bergesen had a bad outing. i really like him but i don't think he is a lock for the rotation that most people think he is. the only 3 locks imo are guthrie, matusz, and arrieta. #4 will be duke if healthy but who knows. bergie has the edge on the #5 but so did tillman last season and look how that turned out for him. i won't be shocked if he has another bad outing or two and we see tillman or britton dominate and one of them cracks the rotation with bergie in AAA.

during the yankees/o's game on masn they showed "battle for the 4th and 5th spot" and they pictured bergesen, britton, and tillman side by side with their stats underneath them. never even mentioned arrieta as competing for anything.

yea i did not get to see the game fully tonight but i caught from the 8th inning on (didnt realize it was on the pirates station )
but anyways, i am in full agreement about berg.... I really want him to win the spot though because i love his work ethic,etc....hopefully he does.

it's definitely his spot to lose but i don't buy into the whole "britton will start at AAA because of his service time". i think macphail proved with wieters he doesn't give a shit about that stuff or just doesn't realize how it works, lol.

good to see adams hitting the ball well also. as you know i've always been a fan of him but he needs to either figure out a position or bulk up and hit for a lot more power to become a DH if he ever wants to be a major league starter. his bat gives him a chance but i'm not sure he'll ever be more than a bench player.

also, my boy matt angle got a hit tonight. i seen him up close in person last year at scranton and holy shit he is fast. future 4th of but nothing more imo.

i'd say at this point accardo will be in the bullpen and is a lock of uehara isn't ready for opening day. rapada probably has the edge as left handed specialist and i think drese has the edge for long reliever.

tatum played well tonight, the battle for backup catcher is far from over.
