Jays had a 17 year old pitcher get 13 strikeouts in 5 innings in Short A ball. That's crazy, very hard to find information about him though.

crazy that he was pitching 5 innings

I thought all pitchers do 2-3

That's to start the season (In every league but AA and AAA), by now all the Jays top prospects are going that much.

Also, it's almost a lock he reaches Lansing this year, and he could start in Dunedin next season. Imagine an 18 year old pitcher possibly reaching the majors next year (Alavrez took that same path, start in High A reach the majors late summer). Obviously it's unlikely he pitches even in AA next year but he could pitch in the majors as early as 2014. And he's not one of those guys that is supposed to reach the majors quickly but only have #3 or worse potential, Roberto Osuna is considered a high end pitcher.

Only if all AL teams collapse and Jose roids 2.0 then no.

well the way i look at it, even with our injury plagued season so far, we're 3.5 games back of wild card, if our players get healthy with the return of bautista/morrow maybe we can pull ahead

who knows when morrow will get back and then there's the doubt if he can return to the way he played at the beginning of this season

Seems like Oakland is desprete for a bat, apparently they've offered Brett Anderson for Yunel Escobar. Their best pitcher (When healthy) for someone who the Jays were probably going to trade anyway (Can't waste Yunel's throwing arm at second base) because Hechavarria is MLB ready and has even better defense , and possibly a much better bat.

This according to Bob Elliot, a Hall of Fame baseball reporter who doesn't make stuff up.

Crazy that the A's would do that, Anderson has top of the rotation potential, has many years of control left, and Yunel is a soon to be 30 year old shortstop with an inconsistent bat and very good defense. I guess he's the cheapest (Money wise) shortstop that would be a significant upgrade.
