This was going into tonight's action...
The Red Sox and Royals currently own the two wild-card spots in the AL right now (35 losses apiece).
And then the Blue Jays and Astros are two games back in the loss column with 37 losses.
The White Sox, Mariners, Tigers and Yankees all have 38 losses and are right in the mix as well.
I just try to follow the losses myself. Easier to keep track of all the teams in the wild-card race.
Thank goodness this isn't the final month of the season,
The American League wild-card race is looking tightly packed.
The best thing the MLB did was add two wild-card spots per league a couple years ago.
It adds a lot more excitement for the fans. I know some baseball purists who were against it.
In the old days, every team in the AL West not named the Texas Rangers, could pack their bags for their off-season vacation already.
