The way Tim Dierkes writes it makes it sound so bad:

Code
With the trade, Orioles vice president of baseball operations Dan Duquette has subtracted his rotation's one sure thing in favor of Hammel, who was demoted from the Rockies' rotation last summer.

Mel Antonen makes a good point...
Move Jim Johnson to the rotation so Lindstrom can go into bullpen + trade for Koji?

yea it's a good trade imo for you guys. Guthrie is finally out of the AL East. I expect a pretty decent  gain in value now.

This is my opinion on the trade which i posted on ON:

Guthrie is going to be much worse in Coors than he was in Baltimore.

no.
Pretty sure he is going to wipe the deck with giants,Padres, and Dodgers lineups.
Camden yards is a tough place to pitch already, not to mention he went up against the Sox, Yankees, Jays and Rays.

I am pretty sure he will be alright going there

A HR prone pitcher is going to wipe the deck pitching in Coors? Lol.

Vouch. Happy to see that he is gone. He was always good against Toronto

Yes. Against teams that can't hit HRs....

I think the only real thing I want to see is Kevin Gregg plunking David Ortiz in the head.
Would make my day.

Here's an interesting statistic...
Mark Reynolds had an O-Swing% below the league average of 29%.
Tells you he doesn't swing outside the strike zone as much. However, he was second in swinging strike % for pitches in the strike zone.

He has a good eye, is what I'm saying.
