Girardi prompted the umps to call a rain delay after Chapman couldn't throw strikes in the top 9, even though he told them he was fine before beginning the inning. It had been raining since the 5th inning, it was a crap time to finally decide to call a delay in that situation. I think they were determined to finish it given the circumstances around the delay.
