Orioles Release OF Kyle Hudson

The Orioles have released OF Kyle Hudson, according to Roch Kubatko of MASN Sports. He was designated for assignment earlier this month to make room on the 40-man roster for LHP Wei-Yin Chen.

Hudson, 25, has a career .276/.362./.314 batting line with zero HR in four minor league seasons with the Orioles. He hit .143/.143/.143 last season with the Orioles in 28 at bats.

Hudson was a 4th round pick out of  Illinois in 2008.

Not sure why he was released. I know he's weak, has no power, only hits singles and steals bases, but why not just option or outright?

i dont know honestly. Maybe they just thought he was not good at all and not even worth taking up a spot. I have a feeling this means that LJ Hoes is destined to be in AAA at some point early in the season (as an OF obviously)
