If we can win the series tonight against the Mariners on the road, I think it will give me some false hope that we can avoid the AL West cellar this year. But I'd rather have the 1st overall pick in the 2014 MLB draft. I surely don't want Seattle to have it. The current win-loss projections have Seattle going 70-92 and Astros going 65-97. A win tonight would move us to 3-6 and Seattle would drop to 4-6 - just a half game out. But woah, I didn't even notice the Angels at 2-5. I have them winning 100 games this year.

Well, I hate to admit it but I think if we play hard every game we could finish ahead of the Mariners in the standings this year.

Goodbye first overall draft pick in 2014.

I'll still enjoy our first pick this June at least.

The 3-6 Astros can jump into 3rd place if the Rangers beat the Mariners tonight. Let's do it!

I'm excited for the three-game series starting at Anaheim tomorrow night. The Angels are 2-6 and looking to dig themselves out of last place. They'll either be 2-7 or 3-6 after playing the Athletics tonight but this upcoming series will be interesting.

The Los Angeles Angels opened the 2013 season with a $137 million payroll. The Astros started the year with an active payroll of $20 million.

These two teams couldn't be any more different on paper but the are a lot alike in the standings early on.

You serious? I said before the season even started I didn't believe we were far off from the Mariners talent wise. The past two nights only made me more confident in that statement. Even when we lost 3-0 the first night I thought we out-played them. We certainly out-hit them in all three games.

Yea but its one series
No way to judge a 162 game season on 1 series.

The M's will win 10-15 more games than the stros

I'm all for it if we can get the 1st overall pick. Otherwise I want to keep over-achieving with the lowest payroll in baseball. Seattle pays one player more money this year than our entire payroll (King Felix). I don't think it's worth it if they don't even make the playoffs.

I think the Astros will win a couple more games than the Mariners this season.

As of now, we're in third place in the AL Central.

Astros 3-6
Mariners 4-7
Angels 2-7

i dont think so

mariners are one big bat and a decent starter away from being a contender

I've seen the last four Seattle games. They are far from a contender. They are slightly better than the Astros. If that.
