Soriano out for 4-6 weeks with elbow problems. I hope Levine is eating a good amount of crow right now.

Is there an ETA on Brackman making it to the show Sim? He graduated with me at State and was so jacked to see him go to the Yanks only to see the Tommy John surgery.

His ETA is this year. He is on the 40 man since he got a MLB deal out of the draft. Every team knew that Brackman was due for TJS and that was the only reason Brackman fell to the Yankees on draft day. He was very much the best arm in that draft on a lot of people's boards. Post TJS, he had control problems(6.4 BB/9) which isn't uncommon after major elbow surgery. He corrected a lot of those flaws last year(2.5 BB/9) and was able to make the jump from High A Tampa, all the way to the SWB playoff rotation. He was drawing raves this ST but he hasn't had a great year in SWB so far and a lot of his control problems appear to be back(5.9 BB/9) and he isn't missing as many bats(6.1 K/9). It is alarming for sure but to be fair, it's not easy for a guy his size(6'11") to repeat his delivery since there are so many moving parts. Even though he is already 25, Yankees still have him under control until 2013 so there is no rush to get him to the big leagues yet. Guys like David Phelps, Hector Noesi, and Ryan Pope are ahead of him in the depth chart.

So what pitchers(realistically) are you guys praying for come trade deadline?

Me: John Danks(this one might be wishful thinking), Ricky Nolasco, and Wandy Rodriguez. In that order.

I would list Carpenter but he is unlikely now that the Cardinals are contending.

Liriano

Liriano is broken man. He is setting career lows in K/9 and career highs in BB/9. His velocity is also a couple of ticks down from last year and his slider has regressed immensely.
