Big game for Niese tonight, he's put together 8 quality starts in a row. A good performance tonight but help raise his stock a little more.

Lets get some more sub par bats to go along with their already dreadful lineup lmao.

At least they'll be better defensively at 3b over Daniel Murphy.

@RobertMurrayBBE: Source: #Mets acquire Juan Uribe, Kelly Johnson from #Braves in exchange for Jon Grant, Rafael Montero.

...And they gave up Rafael Montero, pathetic. Mets GM could have traded Gee for Uribe earlier in the season but decided not too, now they gave up Montero.

This just moves Murphy back to second, and probably Flores to the bench.

Also bringing in Kelly Johnson is going to take at-bats away from Conforto, which is just a fucking waste of bringing him up.

No surprise that the Mets our on the losing end of a trade here. That is terrible giving up Montero lol.

And they should jsut trade Murphy; he's terrible at 2nd lol.

They could have traded Murphy last season when his value was as high as could be, but they didn't.

Mets have made some good trades recently, but those were them selling.

I really hope this is all speculation at this point. I'm watching the game so if it becomes official, I'm sure they bring it up.

His name is John Gant, so idk who that reporter is.
Gant has impressed me more than Montero.
I don't mind this trade at all.
I didn't like Uribe when we got him, but he earned my respect with his play, so hopefully he'll do well with Mets.
Kelly has always been one of my favorite Braves, so wish his success too

Don't think they are giving up Montero

"New York will send “young arms” to Atlanta to add the two veterans, according to Joel Sherman of the New York Post (links to Twitter). One of the players involved in the deal is John Gant, a 22-year-old righty who is pitching at the Double-A level. The other is Rob Whalen, 21, who is a right-hander working at High-A."

The deal is done, per Jon Heyman of CBSSports.com (via Twitter), with Gant and Whalen the two pieces heading to Atlanta.
