I think you're confusing "cardinals fans" with "baseball fans who happen to also be cardinals fans". Just "cardinals fans" hate players like gomez/pierzynski/puig because they showboat and play with emotions. Most other fans of teams do as well. "Baseball fans" generally enjoy that type of thing because it brings more overall excitement to the game.

No. I lived in the middle of Missouri for 4 years and in the bay area for the rest of my life. High exposure to Giants, A's, Royals and Cardinals fans. It was the Cardinals fans who were so vocal about it.

i realize that alot of cardinals fans are annoying as fuck with the whole "best fans in baseball", "play the game the right way" shit and it makes ALL cardinals fans look like pompous assholes, but the media fuels the hell out if it so much.

its shoved in our faces here, by the news, ESPN, MLBnetwork, anything really, and then the casual fan picks up on it and it makes it worse.
