I think if we played the Marlins right now. We'd still struggle to score runs. A three-game series with them should be aired on the Comedy Central channel. In fact, the team with the least amount of errors made should win those games. These are not only the two worst teams in baseball this year but could be of all time. We make the Cubs look like a dynasty and they're not even a good team.

Essentially, we went from the NL Central (possibly 6 to 10 extra wins against the Cubs) to the AL West - no easy wins. By comparison, the Mariners, the second-worst team in the AL West, is every bit as good as any team in the NL Central except maybe the Brewers or Cardinals.

It wouldn't shock me if the Astros go 50-112 this year. I apologize to Curt Schilling for calling us a 49-win team back on Sunday afternoon. I think he was right. I do not believe the Astros will do as good record wise as 55-107 and 56-106 the past two years. The difference in win-loss will be shown from going to a tougher division and league (depth wise).

I meant Reds also. But the Cubs and Pirates we could beat. Two losing teams you could play 18 times a year. A chance to compete in 36 total games against another ball club which does not produce a winning record. That's at least better than having "no chance".

I'd go so far as to say the Astros may go 40-122 this year. I think we could lose 120 this year. Quote me on that. Re-post it in September.

OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) -- The Oakland Athletics have traded lefty Travis Blackley to the Houston Astros for minor league outfielder Jake Goebbert.

The A's announced the deal Thursday before heading to Houston to begin a three-game series with the Astros.

Blackley is expected to be on the Astros' roster for the series beginning Friday. Blackley went 6-4 with a 3.86 ERA in 24 games for Oakland last season. He was designated for assignment last Friday after posting a 14.21 ERA in spring training.

He should fit right in. He could become a workhorse for us in the bullpen with that kind of ERA this spring. But seriously, not a bad move if he puts up numbers like last season. Sample size though (24 games).

he has an absolutely filthy pickoff move. Borderline balk
I remember he picked off 3 rangers in a 5-inning stretch last year

Brad Peacock is starting the game tomorrow night for the Astros. He should last about 3 or 4 innings. Maybe Travis Blackley can pitch the middle innings in relief.
