one of the worst games of the season. Vazquez and Renfroe will not be sleeping well tonight. This is the kind of game that can have lasting psychological consequences for a team. Tonight was a big moment and pretty much everyone besides Pivetta came up empty.

I agree with the decision to take Pivetta out for these reasons:

-the Rays getting no-hit in their ballpark by their rivals, to keep them out of first place (on the heels of a 7-game losing streak) would have put their season in the dumpster.

-it wouldn't have mattered much if the no-hitter was pitched exclusively by Pivetta or if it was a combined effort with relievers.

-they have a better chance of completing the no-hitter if they use relievers for the matchups the rest of the way (rather then letting Pivetta trying to do it while throwing 140 pitches which he isn't used to doing).

My grandpa was a HUGE Sox fan and now that he passed away I am going to start watching the Sox’s every game. Sox are doing amazing JD is doing absolutely amazing! 99 is doing amazing! The entire redsox are doing amazing!!! Let’s get this World Series!!!!!
