would enjoy just getting ONE of those guys honestly lol. I really hope they are aggressive this offseason and go after ACTUAL talent and not aging talent. it has shown to not work EVER in the past 14 years essentially

They could still easily keep the payroll under $90 million by signing Jones to an extension, signing Cuddyer/Kubel, trading for Coco, signing Wilson. Would have money to blow on relievers as well lol.

i think Coco is a FA if im not mistaken?
I agree a Jones extension should be a priority in the near future. He would EASILY sign one, he loves it here and is our team leader.
I am a HUGE Cuddyer/Kubel fan and would honestly give one of them a 3 year deal i like them that much (would feel more comfortable with 2 year deal)
Signing Wilson would be a dream signing for us, but lets hope to god we do SOMETHING along the lines like that.

and unfortunately we still got a year or two till our amazing Relievers in the low minors are ready. We really got some LEGIT talent down there, im excited for them

That's not enough to get you passed the Red Sox and Yankees, lol.

O's are still at least a couple years away from being competitive.

It all depends on how Britton and Matusz bounce back next year.

it is a strong start. It still all comes down to our young pitching in Matusz, Arrieta, Britton. Guthrie is a solid 3/4/5 kinda guy. A strong front end guy is needed.
Im honestly ok with our offense. It shines at times, although it could always use an upgrade.

We just need to make smarter moves and spend money more efficiently. Its been bad this year but it is more on the Starting pitching and Kevin Gregg (HE IS SO BAD)

Yeah, the hitting as a whole hasn't been that bad. My guess would be that we are probably middle of the pack in terms of average and HR while probably in the lower half of OBP.

Signing someone like Wilson could be huge. Wilson and Guthrie would be the top 2 while Arrieta, Britton, Matusz, Simon, Tillman, Hunter and Johnson would all compete for the 3/4/5 slots in the rotation. I imagine Tillman would not make it so he would probably go to AAA. The rest of the pitchers that don't make it could all go to the bullpen. Hunter, Simon, and Johnson is not a bad bullpen trio. Arrieta was long looked at as a future closer if he struggled as a starter. Britton and Matusz are likely MLB starters or AAA starters, neither would likely pitch in the bullpen.

Also, keep an eye on VandenHurk in September he has been pitching well and may challenge for a bullpen spot next season.
