They have potential, but I'm more interested to see how Jenkins/Folty/Gant develop.
Folty just needs to quit leaving stuff out over the plate and hit corners and he'd be a monster.

Yeah, I like Folty's potential.. I like his stuff.. but I don't like how he performs right now.

I heard that if he doesn't improve as a starter, he may be tried in a setup and/or closer role. That'd be interesting.

I think this deal is just getting rid of all long contracts prior to 2017.
Both Swish and Bourn have 1 year left.. and since the organization already stated to rebuild towards the new stadium in 2017, I see this as just getting junk salaries for 2016 and nothing longer.
We will have a lot of room and money to make much needed noise in the offseason before 2017.

Only 1 bad contract for them next year instead of 2.

but didnt they send over cash in the deal to make the financials essentially equal out? i know its 2 for 1, but if the money is the same but they get rid of 2 contracts expiring after next season for a longer bad contract, isnt that puzzling to say the least?

If it evened out in payment, it would be.. but I think Indians are saving money

from what i remember reading, the indians also sent over 10mil in cash, which makes the money about the same, except they took on a bad contract for 1 year longer.

they already have a below average offensive lineup with too little power along with a pretty bad defense, so they traded 2 contracts expiring after next season for chris "no power no defense" johnson? add the10mil they also gave to pick up a contract that doesnt expire for a couple years?
