Atlanta Braves ‏@Braves 37s
Tonight’s lineup vs. WSH (7:35, FSS/680AM/BRN): Heyward 9 JUpton 7 Freeman 3 McCann 2 CJohnson 5 Schafer 8 Simmons 6 Janish 4 Wood 1

If only Uggla and BJ could get going this team would be unstoppable

If only BJ and Heyward could too.. Heyward has been doing good since being in #1 though.

? Heyward has been one of our best 3 hitters this year

seriously, check out the last month or so, then check his comparable stats on fangraphs.. guy has been amazing.. on pace for another 4 WAR season. He has been the epitome of bad luck this year.. really high LD % yet a BABIP under .300, he is the reverse CJ. Even with that said he has an OPS approaching .800, which is ridiculous considering his numbersthe first 2 months or so

I love Schafer as well, but he is falsely accused of being a good defensive CF, when it all points to the contrary. Yeah he makes a lot of diving plays and stuff and he is fast, but that is because he takes bad routes. The balls he is diving for are routine plays for someone such as BJ.

Braves Seeking Second Baseman On Waiver Wire
By Steve Adams [August 16 at 3:15pm CST]
The Braves took another hit to their infield depth when it was discovered that Tyler Pastornicky has a torn ACL in his left knee and will undergo season-ending surgery, writes MLB.com's Mark Bowman. The 23-year-old Pastornicky was set to man second base on an everyday basis while Dan Uggla recovered from LASIK surgery. Uggla isn't eligible to be activated until Aug. 28, at the earliest.

In the meantime, the Braves have called up Phil Gosselin, who could serve as depth while Paul Janish starts at shortstop. However, Bowman writes that Janish's limited abilities with the bat "have led the club to actively search for an infielder who could be acquired via a waiver wire deal."

Janish is a career .214/.284/.288 hitter in 1,175 plate appearances, so it's no surprise that the Braves would want a stronger option at second base. The 24-year-old Gosselin might not be a substantial upgrade either, as he reached Triple-A for the first time this season, where he was batting .277/.326/.343 in 183 trips to the plate.

We've already seen a pair of middle infield options change hands this August, with both Jamey Carroll and Emilio Bonifacio heading to the Royals in waiver deals. A look at the list of players who have cleared waivers shows that Brendan Ryan could be had, but he certainly doesn't fit the profile of an offensive upgrade. This is just my own speculation, but perhaps Ryan Roberts -- who was designated for assignment by the Rays yesterday -- could serve as a fit with Atlanta.

To those saying Heyward needs to start hitting, so far this month he is batting .404 and is just crushing it. He has been the lead-off guy we have needed all year and I hope we keep him there, which we should, all the way through the post season. If Uggla comes back from his eye thing, and can at least walk and hit the same amount of home runs as he has before, i feel this will just be deadly in the post season. Along with Craig (you had your chance the first 8 innings) Kimbrel and the rest of our Bull pin, I'm ready!

Ok.. that's uncalled for.
Bryce Harper should not be hit twice.. that's some bullshit, I don't care.
TBH he shouldn't have even been hit once, we should have been mature and ended the bitterness.
If that was intentional, either one of them, then Freddi is childish.
