If you dismiss Chapman being a scumbag off the field, it was an absolute steal. None of those guy are top 100 prospects but Rookie Davis was the best of the lot. He made some big improvements with command last season and features a mid-90's FB with a good curve. He lacks a 3rd pitch and is probably destined for a bullpen role, however. Jagielo is the guy Yankees drafted in the 1st round 3(4?) years ago. He's a 3B that everyone believes is destined for a move to 1B and has struggled to stay on the field due to injuries. He has a great bat but he'd be behind Greg Bird in the depth chart making him expendable. Cotham and Renda are both organizational players. Renda was left unprotected in the Rule 5 draft recently and no team even gambled on a chance to have him for free. Cotham was given opportunities to carve out a bullpen role on the Yankees last year but never capitalized on it. He's already 28 and his ceiling is a low-end reliver/middle reliver.
Considering what the Padres got for Kimbrel(two top-100 prospects, a useful near-MLB utility guy, and a lower level lottery ticket) and what the Phillies got for Giles(two top-100 guys, and couple of nice complimentary pieces), the Yankees got a steal.
Also consider this, if Chapman is suspended more than 46games, his free agency will be delayed an extra year. If he's suspended <46 games, the Yankees can simply offer him arbitration and acquire a 1st round draft pick if he signs else where. They took on very little on-field risk in this deal and have a chance to boast one of the best bullpens of all time.

I do agree that the Yankees didn't give up much; but you can't compare the package the Phillies/Padres received to this package due to the fact that Kimbrel/Giles both are signed long term.
The bolded part is the key here. As much as I hate the Yankees; I hope they go down on Chapman hard and he's suspended indefinitely (50+ games).. the last thing MLB needs is to go down the same path as the NFL with all these stupid ass wannabe thugs.
