I don't think we'll be as bad as most people think. In no way am i saying we will even get close to the playoffs, but i feel we actually might not finish with 100+ losses this season.
We had much less talent last year and were on par with the Tigers and Giants, the two World Series teams, as the summer days approached. I know it doesn't mean much but it clearly showed we were capable of playing some decent baseball. At that time last year, we had a better record than every team in the AL West except for the Rangers. Now granted, moving to the American League will not be an easy transition but I fully expect us to flirt with a .500 record going into June this year.
We'll surprise a lot of people. I think we have the makings of a decent starting rotation and our lineup is much better with the additions of Rick Ankiel and Chris Carter. We have corner outfielders with some pop in their bat. Our team defense is also much better with Ankiel in right, Pena at first and a healthy Jason Castro at catcher.

A game and a half ahead of the Astros were the San Francisco Giants at 24-22.
A game behind the Astros were the Detroit Tigers at 21-24.
The Giants and Tigers meet tonight in Game 1 of the World Series. The Astros will be watching.
