Encarnacion got at least 2 and made some other stupid plays, that were not errors.
Bautista's error wasn't really an error.

They scored Bautista's hitting second base as an error? That is a bit strange in my opinion. I don't know why Encarnacion was even resigned after Oakland let him go.

management saw him as 30 hr potential, and he was cheaper than most other options at dh.
However, it looks like we should have tried for Damon or another free agent of the sort.

I'm fairly certain EE has a team option at the end of the year, and he's half the price even of Damon.
So even though he is hurting us in the season, his contract won't hurt us long term, which is good as we try to build.

When Lind comes back we should have Arencebia hit DH whenever he is not catching imo.
That way he can get more experience at big league at bats, while not having the wear and tear of catching every day.

I would have liked to see us spend some money on someone like Damon or Vladdy. Not necessarily because they would carry us any further than we are likely to go, but so that the team could have some recognizable names associated with them, especially during a building phase. I am on the fence about Arencebia. I think your DH argument makes sense, though in a perfect world I think I would have him catch this season at AAA.

He has nearly 1000 PAs down in AAA. He does not need to prove himself anymore. He also isnt a young player so we should suck the youth while we can.
