Should just give Scott and Guthrie what they want. They aren't asking for King's ransom and each was the best on the team at what they do. The fact they offered Scott more than they paid Hardy is a slap in Scott's face.

I wouldn't mind Millwood now that we actually have an offense and a defense behind him. He did good at the beginning of the season, then he seemed uninterested and was terrible, then he did pretty well under Showalter.

He really just had a bad June and July. In April, August, and Septemer his era was under 4 but his combined W/L during those 3 months was 2-9 ... not his fault IMO.

Am I for adding Duchscherer or Millwood to our rotation? Only if Britton and/or Tillman aren't ready.
I am totally fine with having a young rotation and an experienced bullpen. Christ, it's what Oakland has done for the past decade or so.
The veteran presence in our bullpen alone could help jump-start our rotation. Also, totally fine with Guthrie as our #1/#2 Starter.
I think with the offense we have currently in place, I think minor additions to our roster are needed.
I still think we should have a LOOGY in our bullpen, however from our farm system, not a FA or trade.

We definitely need Vlad at DH.

Pie is nothing more than a 4th OF. He has had numerous opportunities to prove he can start in the Majors and has shown nothing but a few flashes. All that speed and he can't steal a base, it's sad.

Scott in LF is capable of being an average defender. He won't fuck up a lot but he might not get to every ball that Pie would have.

Reimold in AAA and let him rake. Once someone gets hurt if he is killing AAA we can bring him up.

From Roch:

Lefties still available:

Joe Beimel (34)
Randy Flores (35)
Mark Hendrickson (37)
Ron Mahay (40)
Dennys Reyes (34)
Bobby Seay (33)
Scott Schoeneweis (37)

I would like Seay or Beimel on a minor league deal. Either could still be productive.
