hes pretty much outstatted in every category..
i mean i think harper can be better and will probably be a beast for the next 7+ years
to say hes better than giancarlo at this moment is just wrong though; thats after I was initially going to argue FOR harper until I looked at the comparisons

Harper has dealt with injuries and this year struggled to adjust to the shift. Harper was insane the second half of last season. Harper still got walked an insane amount too.

At their best Harper is a top 2 player in the league. Stanton won't ever be a top 3 player. Use that 2015 season that you don't wanna include as an example.... 10 WAR....

Idk how anyone could think Stanton is better... There is a reason there were rumors that the Yankees wanted Harper more than Stanton.

the reason is age and versatility; harper definitely has a higher ceiling but that 1 season is a complete mirage on his stats
what do you mean I dont want to use that season as an example? i never compared individual season; just over the same time stanton has been way over harpers war including that season, put that in perspective
harper has been negative WAA for half his career where giancarlo has never been; and giancarlo has led harper every year except that one year. oWAR/dWAR are also a landslide towards stanton
i would rather harper on my team and so would everyone else, but on paper he is worse than stanton and there is absolutely no argument
also "at their best" aaron nola has a 10 war season.. I agree harper can be a top 3 player but hes not

I mean I love Harper but you guys realize he's the most up and down player of all time, right?
He was fucking batting like .215 for a good portion of this season.
He had an outstanding season in 2015, and responded with batting .249 and not doing diddly squat.
Go from 10 WAR to 1.5 WAR. This season was his first and only 100 RBI season of his career.

Also I read a long article this past week about how horrible he's been at defense. He's like bottom of the league in all the defensive metrics.
