kershaw has the history, the better non pitching baseball game (not sure if thats a factor into a cy young, but if 2 pitchers are identical and one fields his position better and handles the bat better, he should get the edge), and the sex appeal though.

If you're gonna throw in sexier appeals you might as well toss in Arrieta's no-hitter and that beard is godly. Kershaw may have the history but the Cy Young is a yearly thing.

their bullpen sucks. it's tough to pitch a game knowing that you HAVE to go at least 7, ideally 8 or 9 otherwise the team prolly won't fair too well

The Cubs blowpen is just as bad.. I'm not sure if it's cost Arrieta any wins but I know the bullpen has blown so many games this year.

Kershaw been basically the same since like June 20th man.
Cmon now.

yeah if he did that over 30 games, those are cy young numbers for sure. not 15 games and not 7 games though.

Difference is Kershaw and Greinke might split some votes.

Either way someone is going to get snubbed. It is a tough year to choose. I take the homer route though because this is a true breakout year for Arrieta leading a young team.

kershaw's beard has that, I'm still not a man look to it
cubs bullpen has been bad, they look way better than they are because of all the heroics from the cubs this year

It's not a breakout year if he also raped last year.

I agree the cubs pen has been bad, but the Dodgers bullpen has been laughable.

If you need any more evidence, look at the fact that they made a deadline deal for Jim Johnson to solidify the 8th inning.

And Kershaws beard is all man. Only a real man doesn't groom his beard.

He pitched solid last year...it was his first year proving he can be in the rotation

Problem is..some guys do not continue that success...which is why I was leery about him this year at first...same with Hendricks

Now that he has continued the success and gotten even better with more innings pitched and a lower ERA..I consider this year a true breakout year for him

I meant it barely grows on his face. I'd still give him the edge, just not in sex appeal. Even girls that hate beards mire at a beard that covers your face
