/e

also looks like cubs are trying to trade for another sp

im so fucking excited for next season

schwarbomb heygod and solerpower in the outfield

sucks it likely means baez is gone though..he showed a lot of promise this year

no money has been confirmed

they got him for less than 200m from what it sounds like

Yeah but Soler is probably gonna be apart of a trade

lol it's actually an underpay

I still thinking its overpaying. Paying for WAR I get it. But his WAR comes primarily from his defense.

It's not all so bad Genetics

Via Keith Law

i can still disagree with him.

our offense was pretty close to pitiful last season. even with heyward, we needed a bat. i also think its reasonable to expect some reduction from piscotty and/or grichuk, as well as the cardinals rotational ERA and bullpen dominance over the first 5 months of the season.

id rather play tommy pham in center than pay anything for denard span.

i just dont see the cardinals as a 90 win team right now. maybe a low to mid 80s win amount though. unfortunately its gonna take 2 solid FAs to make us a 90win team and i dont know if its worth it.

Cards always seem to lose a key guy(s) and continue to dominate, next man up fits them perfectly.

So you get an elite defender who also steals bags and is just entering his prime?

sign me up.

Look at what Choo got for the Rangers(7years 130million)...Could you imagine if we waited and tried to get this guy.

Puts that terrible contract to shame.

grichuk will actually be better next season, watch him step up and fill the void.

Next man up thing is great and all, but were running out of prospects and the cubs are PHENOMENAL.

I doubt it. He's not a guy I see hitting over .260, which is fine.

As long as he hits for power, he's valuable to our team.

well i think grichuk can put up numbers like heywards 2012 season (with far less SB, maybe 10 max)
now his defense might not be anywhere near heywards (thats not to say his defense is bad or anything), but at less than 5% of the cost. pretty good deal to me.

edit: ive always been really high on grichuk, he was selected in the first round right before mike trout. the part about the freese trade that pissed me off was that they gave up him, not bourjos.
a lot of people dont know he was in the HS HRD with bryce harper and finished 2nd to him, hes always had power.

he has a high ceiling, no doubt.

he has a relatively low floor though. hes still pretty raw and has a long swing. by all means i hope he puts it together, but hes nowhere near proven.

theres so much uncertaintly on this cardinals team right now.
