7:20pm: ESPN’s Jerry Crasnick tweets that the Brewers have been asking the Mets for one of the team’s “top four” starters (referring to Matt Harvey, Noah Syndergaard, Jacob deGrom and Steven Matz). He adds that it might be tough to finalize the deal without Milwaukee dropping its asking price.

Rosenthal tweets that one scenario which has been discussed would send Wheeler and Flores to Milwaukee.

Mets aren't going to budge on those guys though.

Mets pitching prospect Robert Gsellman was pulled after 68 pitches in his start. Wonder if it's part of anything

No thanks then. I'm not giving up Wheeler for CarGo.

I'd rather go after Parra. I would rather give up Fulmer, and Flores/Nimmo.

Basically.

Also Braves are involved in 3-way deal with Dodgers for Latos. Apparently "big names" are being thrown around

Source: One combination that #Mets and #Brewers have discussed: Wheeler and Flores for Gomez. Again, no indication whether deal is close.

Well, I hope it's not for Latos, especially since we've seen him well enough (like 10 runs in 4 innings).. maybe we can get Ozuna out of it.

Yeah okay...

I guarantee you if we had an actual offense instead of the anemic one we had... Plus with numerous injuries to our best offensive players in Wright and D'Arnaud, with Duda also slumping led to absolutely no run support for our pitchers..

But anyways, I bet if we make it to the playoffs, ain't nobody trying to see us especially our pitching rotation. You guys are high as hell if you seriously think the Mets can't make any noise...

This.

I like how people shit on the Mets, but I guarantee most fans would drool at the chance of having what we got...

No one is going to want to see us in a 7 game series if Duda, D'Arnaud, and a few hitters can score enough runs.

Well.. I think if we get CarGo, we can definitely be divison leaders or make the WC. It doesn't matter, if we actually get an bat, our chances of making the playoffs just jumped to 50%.

As Tyler Clippard said about the Nats, "their very really beatable."

um. i was responding to the comment that said the mets would be a playoff team "for sure".

they can make noise, but ultimately even with an OF upgrade, i dont think theyre better than the pirates, giants, or cardinals.

and on point, i think most playoff teams would rather face the mets than the giants, cardinals, dodgers, pirates, or nationals.

dont take it personally, the mets are just young.

and how can you sit there and say this

I guarantee you if we had an actual offense instead of the anemic one we had... Plus with numerous injuries to our best offensive players in Wright and D'Arnaud, with Duda also slumping led to absolutely no run support for our pitchers..

the fact of the matter is your offense IS shit and your 2 best players ARE injured. any single team in baseball could say the same thing, but it doesnt change the fact.

^The point is and "facts" are that if the Mets had an average offense (Which they would have with the acquisitions and Gomez), they would have probably one of the better records in the league right now.
