thats whats a bitch about baseball. ive known this season was a wash when we got swept by the pirates on june 23rd, your season was very much alive, and yours to lose until recently.
both end in the same result.

edit: to be fair it was more around the ASB that i solidified that conclusion cuz after getting swept by the pirates we swept the tigers then went on a nice little run before getting swept by the M's right before the ASB.
but yea, our season was over way back then.

angels could be scary next year if they get some pitching.

we are 6th in RS in all of MLB, and 6th in BA in all of MLB, and 6th in RPG in all of mlb, despite a bad season from hamilton and injury plagued season from pujols
if those guys play up to par, our offense will be even better.

our pitching tho, 6th to LAST in mlb in ERA.
so if we can get some guys, and stay healthy. who knows..

They said that about the Angels this year, Hamilton is a mess and pujols is broken.

Here's a fun fact, with the comp pick the cards got for Pujols they drafted Michael Wacha.

i would be mad, except with the comp pick we got when the yanks signed teix we got trout.
i wont be mad for 20 years.

edit: and despite pujols' massive freefall, hes performed way better than teix since pujols has been in an angels uniform.

edit2: yanks fucked up super bad on that one, regardless of teix's fall. trout grew up in joysey, and idolized jeter, still does. he would have stayed with that team for life, possibly gone in the HOF as a yankee, had his # retired, and would have taken a HOME team discount if ever needed.
that raped them more than anything i can see if the forseeable future of that franchise. that would have saved the a-rod extension.

You think the Rangers will bring back Lance Berkman to DH next year? He's turning 38 years old in February and his body is breaking down.

Article I read on him from the Associated Press two nights ago.

It is simply no longer there for the 37-year-old, and as a result his career is likely over. The body just can't do it any more.

Berkman is hitting .242 with six home runs and 34 RBIs this year. His last hit came on July 3 against Seattle. An injury forced him on the disabled list on July 7. He was re-activated on Sept. 1, when teams could expand rosters. Berkman is hitting 0-for-12 since then and has hardly been able to play.

Of the many offseason decisions made by the Rangers in the previous offseason, rolling the dice and spending more than $10 million to add Berkman to fill their DH role was the absolute worst. "We knew it was a risk," Rangers GM Jon Daniels said.

“I had two surgeries on (the right knee) last year, and I really haven’t gotten back close to 100 percent,” Berkman, 37, said before his former team opened a three-game series at Rangers Ballpark on Monday, with the Rangers posting a 12-0 win. “I’ve had four surgeries on that knee, and I have arthritis in it. I’m just old."

“I’m waiting to get to the off-season and see how it goes. I haven’t really made any kind of announcement to retire. I may try to play in 2014.”

I feel so bad for Lance Berkman. He got off to a good start and was really swinging the bat well to start the year.
I'd like to see him play in 2014 but there is nothing he can do if his knees and hip don't hold up anymore.
