was at the SF/MIL game on Monday night. Dude got canned at 2nd by MVPosey (was clearly out) but was called safe. Review (again, clearly) shows that he was out. Call is obviously reversed. He throws a fucking tantrum and gets ejected, and consequentially gets his manager ejected for defending his player lol.

Watched a home run and continued to talk shit around the bases, specifically to (nice guy) freddie freeman, chris johnson, and brian mccann.. then backed the fuck down when McCann wasn't taking his shit.
and the Gerrit Cole shit

1. How does Cespedes have a high ceiling? Dude is almost 30.
2. Why would the tigers sell Cespedes at a below market rate when they could simply let him walk after the season and get a 1st round draft pick? They wouldn't trade him for anything short of a 1st round caliber prospect + more since they'd be giving up 2 extra months of production.
3. Why would Cespedes re-sign at a discount to a team he's only played on for two months(assuming he gets traded to the mets)?

Gomez on the other hand is coming of back-to-back MVP caliber years and is locked up for an extra year for a very cheap $9m. Even if he walks after 2016 you still get a draft pick...

1. They are both 29...
2. Umm, because the Tigers are willing to listen to 'offers,' which also means they are desperate to get something more than a first round pick...
3. Maybe, because Cespedes has said many times he wants to be on a winning team, and is willing to sacrifice money for stability.

I was gonna say it sounds like he has toned it down, but I think that could be more of a product of the brewers being a non-competitive team this year.

they're both 29

And?

My point was, that Cespedes has reached his ceiling. That would obviously be the case for Gomez as well but his ceiling is a perennial MVP-caliber player.

CJ yeah, but McCann really wasn't a fighter/talker at the time.

of the pitchers though, i think wheeler has the lowest floor. look at it that way.

and yes gomez will cost a lot more. but how would you like to have gomez as your CF next year when you still have the same rotation? dont have to worry about not resigning cespedes after missing the postseason this year.

thank you for saying everything i was trying to say, but in a better way

Disagree. But hey, I guess that's where we'll agree to disagree, because Wheeler has filthy stuff. Hes been known for throwing high velocity fast balls, but having no control, which he still needs to learn. I would say he has a high bust potential, but a high ceiling if he reaches it.

But I get your point. Its better to have Cargo reunite with the Mets on a lucrative contract next year.

But as a Mets fan, I'll believe it when I see it.
