I'm pretty sure he will resign, just not for what he would earn in arbitration

Brooks is gone too. I'm going to miss seeing him come off the bench and me having to say, "Fuck..."

e;
Which also happens to be what I said every time A Gon came up to bat in an important situation.

Which also happens to be what I said when more than half of the Braves' line up came up to bat in an important situation last season.

lol

agon signed with the brewers for 4 million which tells me one of two things

either the brewers did massive overpay

or wren underestimated the market when he didn't offer gonzo arbitration

Or he's really confident that Pastornicky is ready ...

... or he's an evil genius that's going to get Hanley.

I was half-heartedly hoping we would get Furcal back. Despite his age and tendency to get injured, I was heartbroken when he left.

no no no

I mean he underestimated the market, the only reason not to offer gonzo arb is the fear he would accept it, but considering he just got much more than he would have if he accepted, chances are he wouldn't have and he could of netted us a draft pick.

However, there's a better chance the Braves would settle for a reasonably priced player with a good track record and perhaps a connection to them or their manager - someone like Cody Ross. The Cardinals and a couple of other teams are pursuing Ross, but I have it on good authority that Ross, all things being equal, would prefer to a reunion in Atlanta with his former Marlins manager (Fredi Gonzalez) and teammate (Dan Uggla).

I wouldn't mind seeing Cody Ross in Atlanta. I'm really hoping the Braves sign a shortstop sometime soon though. It's nerve wracking.

You mean you hope they sign a backup shortstop soon? I am not too anxious, lol, getting someone like Ronny Cedeno to back up Pastornicky isn't exactly an exhilarating thought
