Who is going to sign first: Johnny Cueto or Scott Kazmir?
What is left on the starting pitching free agent market?

The Red Sox and Diamondbacks already overpaid for David Price and Zack Greinke. I would have liked either.

At this point, trading for a front-line starter seems more appealing.
But Shelby Miller, a #2 guy (not an ace) set the crazy trade market at a high price.

So trying to land Jose Fernandez or one of those legit Aces is going to cost a fortune in a trade.
Another guy I liked, Jeff Samardzija, signed with the Giants. But he's more of a #3 or #4 starter.

Does anybody have a list of the best remaining free agent starting pitchers? Cueto and Kazmir, I'm assuming are at the top.

The problem with Kazmir, while he's good, is he runs out of gas fast. I'd prefer to sign him in May or June. So that he can be fresh for the stretch drive and playoffs. A guy with a dead arm come October is useless. He had a dead arm in August, September and October this past year. A few of his starts had to be skipped down the stretch.

I don't pay much attention to baseball prospects other than the huge names, but I just looked at the Phillies' roster and holy crap.. I recognize like 3 names on there. Is there anyone in the organization for me to be excited about? The last time I got excited about a prospect, it was for Dom Brown..

Cutch was one of the top 5 luckiest hitters in baseball last season, yes you're right. 4th highest BABIP rofl.

But yeah, D.Brown was the #1 prospect in baseball when he was called up as a 5 tool potential superstar, you act like I was just being a blind homer or something if someone said he was gonna be better than Cutch lol...

And D.Brown isn't top 100......yet. He's only just figuring it out, a late bloomer yes but all the raw tools to be a beast like he was projected to be KID. I been waiting patiently for him to break out.

Ok and when D.Brown has a good season and turns into a quality big leaguer where will you be? Oh that's right.

Btw, I want to keep this thread going I want to collect as many quotes and haters as possible.

Just like I did with Cole Hamels here and Jrue Holiday in the basketball forum LOL!!!

Sadly he had a good year that year hitting 27 homers... that was the start and end of that though.

Jason Heyward: Is he worth this ridiculous money that people are saying he's going to get?
I've heard some reports saying he may receive anywhere from $160 million to $200 million.

Chris Davis isn't even going to receive that much!
Jason Heyward showed some nice power in 2012.

Over the last three years, he has very poor home run totals and RBI numbers.
Good batting average this past season but an .OPS under .800.
An .OPS under .800 in four of his last five seasons (not counting his hyped up and solid rookie year).

I mean, he's good but $200 million dollars good?
