im not underestimating arrieta though. youre underestimating the cardinals offense.

by all means the cubs should win, and theyll be heavily favored, but to act like the game is already a cubs win is asinine. the cardinals have been so good in the postseason in the past, and continue to be really good in situations where their back is against the wall.


remember what the cardinals did to kershaw last year? i think youre also underestimating wacha. hes struggled lately, but he has the stuff to also shut down chicago if he isnt fatigued anymore.


its a tall order for the cardinals, but the game is winnable. and even if the cardinals dont win tomorrow, the series isnt over.

you said you were more worried about wacha than facing against the hottest pitcher in baseball. That is what I meant. I'm worried about our hitting right now, bryant and rizzo haven't done anything.

i am, with how inconsistent wacha has been. he has the best stuff of anyone in our rotation at the moment (thanks to the injuries to waino and martinez), and if he can harness some control, he will do just fine and keep this a low scoring game and hopefully a bullpen battle.

if he pitches like he did for most of august on, then the cardinals will need to win games 4 and 5.

the funny thing is, even with me being a cardinals fan i dont hate the cubs.
