It's called being a fan of a team that hasn't played any meaningful games this late in a season since 2008. You always want to acquire good players that help you win, but you also know the price of giving up top prospects. I'm trying to view all possible scenarios.

I didn't even discuss any of the pitchers the Padres may deal or perhaps even Mike Leake from the Reds. There are other options that could be had for the right price. But I don't view any of those guys as a top-of-the-rotation starter. Top two guy. A decent number three at best.

I just didn't understand when you said you would give up more/higher prospects for renting David Price for 2 months (when you know he's not going to sign) than you would give up for Cole Hamels whom you'd have for 3 more years at a reasonable cost. The difference between Price and Hamels is not that significant.

You said you'd give up more prospects for two months of Price than three years of Hamels.

Everything you say now, if it wasn't already, is nonsense.

Reports say Mets are very close to pulling a "big trade", they are in talks with the Brewers about Gomez.

Please no.

Go after Cespedes.
