Numone, can you possibly help me out? Or any other peeps that know comp stuff....:

Basically, I have ALWAYS been able to run my monitor at 1680 x 1050 -- NEVER had problems, 5+ years of this same setup...but now Im at 1280 x 1024 as my max...not to mention it looks fuzzy and not as clear as my old resolution. I cannot change it to higher res, only lower...or I would get an error ""Analog out of range 74.5hz/60hz'"...and to add insult to injury my comp has been acting strange ontop of this (Lagging mouse and freezing which I have never experienced)...Virus maybe?
For some reason, when I go to my control panel, I only see one monitor as "Default Monitor"....I remember when my resolution wasn't messed up, it showed two options...
So it gets me to narrow it down to:

-Either my graphics card is messed up?
-Or my monitor is messed up?
-Virus?

I would love help.

computer laggyness is unrelated to your resolution issue. you can download ad-aware and/or spybot s&d (both free) to clean up your computer a bit. (though make sure you aren't having both scan at he same time)

as for your monitor, my first suggestion would be to uninstall your current drivers, then install new ones. Graphics drivers are written in assembly language which is a pita. It's pretty easy for stuff to go haywire in them.
