Final game in the National League is going to extra innings! The Cubs had Carlos Marmol warming up. If he comes in then Houston has a good chance to win.

Imo you guys should change Jerseys/colors/logo in the transfer to the AL. New young talent with a fresh start to an identity.

Well, we are changing logo/jerseys, and i agree, a fresh start and new identity would be a good thing.

We will no doubt finish last in the AL West next year, but after that, i hope we at least become competitive.

I would like for the Astros to sign Lance Berkman to a one year deal this winter. He can be our first full-time DH in 2013.

And I was wasted drinking too much beer during the game yesterday. Justin Maxwell tied it 4-4 with a three-run shot in the top of the 8th. LOL, I thought it was the 9th. Cubs ended up winning the game 5-4 with a run in the bottom of the 9th with a Bryan LaHair walk-off RBI single off Hector Ambriz. The game never went to extra innings and Carlos Marmol pitched a scoreless top of the 9th.

They'll be exciting to watch by 2015, maybe 2016. They've got tons of elite prospects in the minors. Some of them will be called up in 2013 and 2014.

I'm ready to see Jonathan Singleton and Jarred Cosart make the 25-man roster in Spring Training this March. I was disappointed with the Hunter Pence trade initially, but soon I won't be because the Phillies gave up a lot for him and then traded him for much less a year later to the Giants. We got our future all-star first baseman and our Ace for the next 10-plus years in that trade. Houston fans have been spoiled by some elite first basemen over the years. Singleton is going to be the next great one to watch.

Astros’ Singleton named AFL co-player of the week

First baseman Jonathan Singleton was named Tuesday as Arizona Fall League co-player of the week.

The 21-year-old Houston Astros prospect hit .350 during his initial five games for the Mesa Solar Sox, posting a .435 on-base percentage while slugging .800. Singleton collected two home runs, five RBIs and seven runs. His 16 total bases through six games leads the AFL.

Singleton shared player of the week honors with Surprise’s Chris McGuiness (Texas).

Singleton hit .284 with 21 home runs and 79 RBIs during 131 games last season for Double-A Corpus Christi.

He was acquired by Houston in 2011 as part of the Hunter Pence trade.
