It's not a matter of risk. It's a matter of choice. The Reds aren't going to tell the guy to do one thing if he wants to do another. If someone gets hurt and he can step in, he might enjoy starting and decide to give it another shot.
I know it wasn't a decision made based on the risk, I was just saying it's less risky, trying to look at the bright side.
I don't think it really matters what Chapman wants to do, if he's getting paid millions of dollars, I'm sure he would have done whatever they told him.
