Devin Mesoraco is my guy for this year. I think he's going to hit well enough to skim some starts away from Hannigan, but he won't actually get more playing time because Dusty Baker is still the manager.

I really wanted to see Chapman as a starter, but I guess having him close is a less risky option...

It's not a matter of risk. It's a matter of choice. The Reds aren't going to tell the guy to do one thing if he wants to do another. If someone gets hurt and he can step in, he might enjoy starting and decide to give it another shot.

I know it wasn't a decision made based on the risk, I was just saying it's less risky, trying to look at the bright side.
I don't think it really matters what Chapman wants to do, if he's getting paid millions of dollars, I'm sure he would have done whatever they told him.
