DOB: I mentioned this earlier today, but it bears repeating: It’s hard to believe that the Braves are starting four consecutive rookies in their next four games, beginning with Brandon Beachy tonight, then Mike Minor and Julio Teheran in Thursday’s doubleheader at New York, and Randall Delgado in Friday’s series opener at St. Louis.
All are highly talented, and Beachy has been one of the Braves’ top starters for the past three months. But still, starting four consecutive rookies in the midst of a playoff race tells you plenty about the state of the injury-diminished Braves rotation.
