Cardinals were out-hit in this game and still won 5-4. The Astros drop to 48-102 on the season.

Fernando Salas was nails out of the St. Louis bullpen. The Cardinals were nursing that 5-4 lead in the top of the 8th. It looked like the Astros were about to take the lead and pull the game out late. Bases loaded with one out for Jose Altuve. And Salas struck out Altuve and Brett Wallace to preserve the lead and ultimately the win.

J.D. Martinez grounded into a double play with one out and the bases loaded in the top of the 7th as well.

Houston left 11 men on base - most of them in the late innings. I was nervous as shit. I was saying, "oh crap, broke again!"

Just have to keep the faith for the future bro.

Jose Altuve 2B
Carlos Correa SS
Jonathan Singleton 1B
Domingo Santana RF
Ariel Ovando LF
Brett Wallace DH
George Springer CF
Delino DeShields Jr. 3B
Jason Castro C

That lineup will be so much better than the shit we have right now, LOL

Nice to see the bats come alive at home against the Pirates tonight. Jed Lowrie hit a three-run homer, Just Maxwell homered and Brett Wallace hit his 8th homer of the season. That's nice to see because I expect Wallace to emerge as our full-time DH next season. He's got potential to hit 25 homers in a season playing full time.

7-1 Astros lead in the top of the 9th right now against a Pirates team that needed a win in the worst way. Houston just took three of four at home from the Phillies and now they're about to play that spoiler's role against the Pirates. As bad as the Astros have been this year, they've been a decent and competitive ball club at home, especially after they named Tony DeFrancesco the replacement manager.

The Astros have a legitimate shot to finish the month of September with a winning record.

But it begs the question, where was this performance earlier this year? Did we give up on Brad Mills? But good to see them play some real baseball, theres light at the end of the tunnel.

I think they just quit on Brad Mills. Even the road games they've been losing are close games that they have a chance to win in the late innings.

Wow! Matt Dominguez with a great catch at third base. A 5-3 double play to end the game. The Astros win 7-1.
