The problem with Matusz is that if his control is off he is completely fucked. If Britton is struggling with command he can still dominate as he has done on more than one occassion so far this year.

I like Matusz but I've seen every one of his starts and every one of Britton's and it's beyond obvious to me that Britton is the best pitcher the O's have had since Mussina.

yea you are right about matusz and britton on that aspect.
Matusz will have games where he is Absolutley unhittable, but games where he gets rocked too (twins every start for some reason lol).

real bad problem having to argue what one is better though :P

I hope you seriously don't believe Britton is going to sustain this level of success...

How much longer do you think he can pitch like this with a sub 2:1 K/BB and a .227 BABIP(as a groundball pitcher no less).

you gotta watch his games man, he really is nothing like any other groundball pitcher i've ever seen (although he is obviously gonna come back to earth a little bit)

stats are only stats to an extent

I watch the games and I see what I see, I don't just go on the internet and look up stats or read a Keith Law article to form my opinion. He's the best young O's pitcher I have seen and I see no reason he can't sustain his current success. He has had 2 or 3 games where he was nowhere near his best and still was able to pitch well. When he is on, he is unhittable.

holy mind read

I don't think Law has ever done a write-up on Britton, but sure.

Good luck trying to find a pitcher that has had much success in the league with a sub 2:1 K/BB and a sub 8% whiff rate.
