lolwat

I'm pretty happy with the trade but I was really high on Warren. At least we got most of his pre-arbitration years. Although Starlin isn't exactly cheap.

I like it from the Cubs perspective just because they replaced him with Zobrist adding only a little salary each year and Zobrist is something the Cubs needed.. someone who can get a runner home from 3rd with less than 2 out or move a runner over; Warren should slot nicely in the 7th.

Still hope they go after Giles; Rendon/Giles would be a nice back end.

Holy shit what a return for the Braves

Inciarte and Dansby Swanson plus Aaron Blair

..dbacks are incredibly dumb. Thats veto worthy.
Loading the braves up on top prospects and a good young major league OFer under team control for cheap in return for 3 years of a #3... Thanks a lot..

#3 lol... maybe on THAT team now that they got greinke and if corbin is awesome.. #2 only cuz of greinke. a week ago he woulda been the ace. spoiled ass

edit: that dbacks team is so stacked now, only have to worry about bullpen, and a few holes in the lineup. my god. they literally did what few teams do and filled holes absolutely that needed to be filled. with win now talent. u wanna wait 3 years for someone to pan out and HOPE the same players are still on the team, or even if they are, performing at NOW level?

Hes hasn't been an ace at all so far. I'm not talking about what he would be on a specific team.
Career xFIP over 4. Career FIP of 3.82.
His HR rate this year was suppressed by playing in one of the very best parks to not give up HRs in.

His HR rate was nearly double on the road, to go with a 3.67/3.95/4.44 road ERA/FIP/xFIP.

Occasionally there are bad trades. This is among the worst of them.

Miller’s career xFIP is worse than the league average. His regular career FIP is worse than the league average. Last year, his ERA looked good because of home-run suppression. He’s not a proven No. 1, nor is he a proven No. 2. He’s a No. 3 with potential and a lot of innings of not quite tapping into it.

He also faded badly down the stretch which bodes poorly for next year.

Steamer predicts 4.09/4.22. (ERA/FIP)

he is a very solid pitcher, and granted ur stats on him arent horrible (but not great) hes very solid.
not saying it was the best trade ever, but its not like mike napoli and juan rivera for vernon wells and his entire contract...
you will get solid innings and ERA out of him, and going to the dbacks that park aint much more of a hitters park than the braves.
just saying, be happy, he will prolly get u guys the WC, and with that rotation, thats all ull need to get the NLCS.
cuz that offense can, and has easily carried that team for more wins than what they should have had the last few seasons.

I really think Warren is marginalized as a reliever. He hasn't proven that he can't start yet and was probably our 2nd best starter when CC went down. For what it's worth ZiPS had some extremely favorable projections for him as a starter. I always thought he had a chance to be a #3-4 but his versatility(excells as a reliever as well) makes him an ideal swingman.
