I don't think Judge's 200 k's matter because an out is an out, who cares? Altuve is the best player on the best team and he had an insane year. Judge is 1 dimensional when compared to guys like Altuve and Trout. I pick Trout over Sale and Judge because even if he had a real slump for the 60 games he didn't play, he'd have better numbers than judge and probably altuve, by far. Sale is a freak and deserves a few 3rd place ballot votes.

Judge has Altuve in every category except batting average(lol) and SB's. And with today's two homerun's, Judge also has him in fWAR.

People love to point out the strikeouts(and never talk about his AL lead in BB's) but it's statistically proven that a strikeout is no worse than a groundout or popup over a full season. The inability to move a runner over is negated by the fact that you can't hit into a double play with a strikeout.

At the end of the day, the overall ability to not make outs is the most valuable skill in baseball and Judge has done that better than anyone as evident by his OBP.

With that said, I do think Altuve should get MVP based on positional scarcity and his value on the bases. But the race is neck and neck(probably the wrong idiom to use considering their height differences :thumbsup: ).

I don't put much value into the argument that Judge is more valuable to his team etc etc, since players don't get to choose their situations. I think every award race is going to be extremely close in both leagues(dat AL Cy Young decision will be so much fun) except for the RotY(Bellinger and Judge both have those unanimously).
