If Cubs were smart they would've made the same trade for Miller but win win for both still

What makes you think they could have gotten Miller for that same package? Miller is every bit as good(the last 2 seasons but doesn't carry the same track record), has 2 and a half years of control left, plus he doesn't carry the off-the-field baggage with him. There's a reason the Yankees would take anything short of a package headlined by Schwarber in a Miller deal.


edit: I'm not even a huge Schwarber fan but the Yankees seem to love him.

Yeah, but he has no position and is probably a platoon bat. Positional flexibility is very important, and Schwarber provides none. I'd much rather deal for Gallo, who would hit 50+ a year a Yankees Stadium, and fills a positional need.

Absolutely but Gallo has positional value(I realize he's not a great 3b but he has a chance to be average there) which is not nothing. Not to mention Gallo isn't coming off a major injury.
