You must have misread most of my comments then.

If I'm starting a team from scratch say 2017 and I have the 1st pick and Correa puts up 30/25 in 2016 or even close to that at the premium defensive position. Hands down, I'd take the 20 y/o SS over the OF'r anyday even if he's Trout.

You take the SS over the OF'r any day.

CF is a premium defensive position.

Not nearly as scarce as elite SS's.

OF'rs come around more often.

I'm not saying I wouldn't take Trout now as I've said before if I had to choose now; I'd take Trout.

Lindor's bat is nowhere even close to Correa's.

What about Machado? Elite defender, awesome bat, natural SS. Might even be playing there once Hardy or whoever Baltimore is using is gone next season (I think.. Maybe year after)

Would you take him over Trout? You know what he can do.
30HRs, 20 SB, and hit .275+

Only 23.

Not with him having a serious knee injury already.

I can assure you; I would have taken Tulo in his prime/not injured over Trout now anyday. Trout may put up better numbers but the difference between finding an elite SS vs finding an elite CF is far too big. All you have to do is take a look at the stats of SS's and the lack of any elite SS that hits for power/avg/steals/and plays great defense and the number of outstanding CF's.

It's partly the same reason why Tulo was considered the best player in baseball for a few years even though Pujols among others were there.

Do I consider Correa better than Trout? I never said that but if I were BUILDING a team and I had the first pick; you take the SS over the OF'r anyday.

Not if it's mike trout :)

Plenty of other SS options. There are no other Mike Trouts
