One broadcaster said tonight that the Astros have already indicated that have no intention of letting the Red Sox see Verlander in the final series of the regular season. Not sure how that info is available, but if it's true I guess we can assume that the Astros will cruise into a 2-seed and rest players that series to set up their pitching.

That means we have to protect our 3-game division lead for 10 games against opponents that have no motivation to win (including 6 against last place teams). Blowing this lead would be a major upset.
