Braves C Brian McCann told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution that he thinks he will be able to return from his oblique injury when he is eligible to come off the disabled list next Friday. McCann, who has been sidelined since July 27 with an oblique strain, was able to take some swings with hitting coach Larry Parrish on Saturday and reported no issues afterwards. He also caught some bullpen sessions and could begin a minor-league rehab assignment sometime next week. “He’s doing a lot more stuff than I thought he was going to be able to do this early on,” manager Fredi Gonzalez said.
