I thought for sure the Astros had that one. 3-0 lead with one out in the top of the 8th (nobody on base). And the Reds just put up a 5-spot with ease. That home plate umpire didn't do us any favors with that bad strike zone. i felt the one-out walk -- two of the pitches looked like strikes -- set the tone for that 5-run meltdown.

We've got better relievers in the minors. We have one minor league team going to the playoffs. It's really sad we can't get five more outs up 3-0 and nobody on base. We deserve to lose 115 games this year but I can't imagine serious changes being made this winter. I expect a total roster over haul. Just bring back Bud Norris and Jose Altuve -- that sweet double play he turned in the 6th inning was incredible. Just a shame Norris had a bad blister on his finger. He could have went 8 or 9 innings instead of 6.

Back to not scoring runs. Typical Astros. Teasing us with a few good games (nearly won three games in a row). But now they're back to losing 115 game this year. There was no chance they were going to win tonight after that fluke win yesterday at Pittsburgh.

4-0 Pirates now. I've seen enough of Jordan Lyles. I don't even want him back next year! He had one good game the entire year. His last start against the Mets. That's the only team the Astros had a winning record against. If only we could play the Mets every game.

Pirates won 6-2. Oh well, at least we didn't get shut out.

Andrew McCutchen regained the NL batting average lead, on pace to win the batting title this year.

a guy i played with in HS is one of the astros relievers Hector Ambriz. Think he just got brought up about a month ago maybe, he had tommy john last year, and was with the Indians i think before that. Just hoping he can keep the ball down and in the ball park though lol
