Statistically speaking, in 2014 Seattle had the best pitching in the american league.

What exactly happened?

It's not like there have been a bunch of movement in our bullpen, our starting rotation is nearly identical.

For the record in 2015 Mariners are 4th from last in pitching.

Regarding Fernando Rodney I'm gonna copy and paste something I read elsewhere.

So that leaves 5 games I think he can logically be held responsible for, just based on performance. If you want to assign him blame for the rushing of Carson into the role, then that's harder to extrapolate from. I might be missing something with the math and data so lemme know what you think.

No I'm just saying I don't think he's doing quite as bad as people think he is. If Tom Wilhelmsen had a bunch of good outings then 3 or 4 one run mishaps people wouldn't be as mad. People love Tom Wilhelmsen because he dances during batting practice and wears his hat properly.

To be honest people gave him a lot of shit last year and I think he was an incredible closer in 2014.

Also, all of this doesn't mean I wouldn't rather have Carson Smith or even Wilhelmsen closing until Rodney gets his shit figured out, cuz I do.

i used to view rodney as a elite pitcher. i dont know what it is lately. but hes horrible.
