Gwinnett Braves 5, Louisville Bats 2
Jose Constanza LF 2-3, .320 AVG
Stefan Gartrell RF 2-3, 2 HR (19, 20), 4 RBI, BB, .266 AVG
Julio Teheran 5 IP, 1 R, 0 ER, 3 H, 3 BB, 6 K, W (10), 1.70 ERA, 2-2, 2B, RBI, .250 AVG

With the win tonight, Gwinnett manager Dave Brundage now has 1,000 wins as a Minor League Manager. Stefan Gartrell had another multi-homer game, and in the process he not only set the new single-season high for home runs by a Gwinnett hitter, he also set Gwinnett's career home run mark. Julio Teheran only lasted 5 innings, but he still managed to pick up his 10th win of the year, striking out 6 and allowing just 1 unearned run. He also helped himself with a RBI double. Teheran is the International League leader in wins and ERA, is second in WHIP, and 8th in strikeouts.
Tomorrow, Cristhian Martinez will face the Bats.
Mississippi Braves 2, Tennessee Smokies 1, Game 1
Tyler Pastornicky SS 2-4, BB, .299 AVG
Cory Harrilchak RF 1-2, 2 BB, .247 AVG
Paul Clemens 2.1 IP, 1 R, 0 ER, 3 H, 0 BB, 3 K, 3.80 ERA
Arodys Vizcaino 1 IP, 0 R, 1 H, 1 BB, 0 K, 3.78 ERA
Mississippi Braves 4, Tennessee Smokies 1, Game 2
Cory Harrilchak RF 1-3, 3 RBI, .248 AVG
Brett Oberholtzer 7 IP, 1 ER, 3 H, 0 BB, 1 K, W (7), 3.81 ERA
Cory Harrilchak went 2-5 with 3 RBI and 2 walks in the double header. Chak is on a roll, hitting .339 with a .936 OPS in July, as well as working on a 7 game hitting streak, that's seen him go 8-24 with 8 RBI. The first game was a completion of yesterday's suspended game, and the rain forced Paul Clemens out of the game after just 2.1 shutout innings, a nice comeback after allowing 9 runs in 4.1 innings in his last start. Arodys Vizcaino made his first relief appearance of the year, tossing a scoreless inning. Frank Wren said last week that the team would be moving Arodys to the pen to limit his innings the rest of the year, since his 88 innings this season are already a career high. In the second game, Brett Oberholtzer picked up the complete game victory, allowing just 1 run over 7 innings. Obie is on a roll of his own, with a 1.99 ERA and a 1.06 WHIP over his last 6 starts (40.2 innings).
Mississippi is off tomorrow, then Randall Delgado will face Jacksonville Wednesday.
Lynchburg Hillcats 0, Potomac Nationals 1
Andrelton Simmons SS 1-4, .303 AVG
Joe Terdoslavich 3B 3-3, SB (2), .280 AVG
Chris Masters 7 IP, 1 ER, 2 H, 2 BB, 3 K, 3.33 ERA
Joe Terdoslavich played third base for the third time this season, and he kept the 3s going with a 3-3 performance. He's been killing the ball over his last 10 games, hitting .400 with a 1.050 OPS, 5 doubles, a homer, and 9 RBI. Andrelton Simmons extended his hitting streak to 9 games, and he's hit .342 with a .806 OPS in that span. Chris Masters took the tough luck loss, allowing just 1 run over 7 innings. Last season, Masters was terrible in the second half, but his improved conditioning this year has led to him being the model of consistency, with month to month ERAs of 1.56, 3.74, 3.76, and 3.55, and month to month WHIPs of 1.04, 1.40, 1.37, and 1.11.
David Hale will face the P-Nats Tuesday afternoon.
Rome Braves 7, Greenville Drive 3
Tony Mueller CF 3-5, RBI, .273 AVG
Matt Lipka SS 2-5, 2B, RBI, 2 SB (17, 18), .239 AVG
Tommy La Stella 2B 2-3, 3B, .212 AVG
Gary Moran 6 IP, 2 ER, 8 , 1 BB, 6 K, W (3), 3.86 ERA
Carlos Perez 2 IP, 1 ER, 1 H, 0 BB, 1 K, 5.03 ERA
Don't look now, but Matt Lipka has things headed in the right direction. He's 4 for his last 9, and in his last 10 games, he's hit .279 with a .354 OBP, a .773 OPS, and 4 stolen bases. Tony Mueller is also streaking, as a 3 hit day extended his hitting streak to 5 games. In that span, he's gone 11-23. Tommy La Stella broke an 0-19 slump with a 2 hit day that included a triple. Carlos Perez made his second straight relief appearance, allowing a run over 2 innings of work. Like Vizcaino, this is a move attempting to limit the strain on his arm, as his 96.2 innings this season is considerably higher than the 69.2 innings he'd thrown in the last 2 years combined.
Rome will head home tomorrow and after an off day they'll face the Delmarva Shorebirds, with Willie Kempf on the mound.
Danville Braves 8, Pulaski Mariners 6
Nick Ahmed SS 2-5, 2 2B, BB, .261 AVG
Kyle Kubitza DH 2-6, .280 AVG
Brandon Drury 3B 2-5, 2B, HR (3), 3 RBI, .354 AVG
William Beckwith 1B 1-5, 2B, 2 RBI, E (3), .321 AVG
Chase Larsson LF 2-2, 3 BB, .221 AVG
Dan Winnie 1 IP, 4 ER, 2 H, 5 BB, 1 K, 3.43 ERA
Wilson Rivera 3 IP, 2 R, 0 ER, 2 H, 3 BB, 4 K, 0.75 ERA
Jarrett Miller 3 IP, 0 R, 1 H, 1 BB, 8 K, W (2), 3.38 ERA
Brandon Drury doubled, homered, and drove in 3 runs, and over his last 10 games, he's hitting .409 with a 1.071 OPS. William Beckwith extended his hitting streak to 6 games with a 2 run double, and during the streak he's gone 9-26 with 4 doubles, a triple, a homer, and 10 RBI. Dan Winnie had completely handled the Appy League though his first 4 starts, but he didn't have any control tonight, allowing 5 walks and 4 runs in just 1 inning, raising his ERA from 1.80 to 3.38 and his WHIP from 1.40 to 1.67, and he now has more walks, 18, than strikeouts, 16. Jarrett Miller picked up his second win of the year, striking out 8 over 3 innings.
Ernesto Silva will face Pulaski tomorrow.
GCL Braves 2, GCL Pirates 8
Logan Robbins DH 1-2, BB 2 SB (5, 6), .232 AVG
Aris Alcantara 1B 1-3, 2B, 2 RBI, BB, .247 AVG
Eduardo Castillo 4 IP, 4 R, 2 ER, 5 H, 0 BB, 3 K, 4.81 ERA
Wei Huang 2 IP, 0 R, 0 H, 0 BB, 0 K, 0.00 ERA
Brett Butts 1 IP, 0 R, 0 H, 0 BB, 1 K, 6.35 ERA
Logan Robbins has struggled with making contact as a pro, hitting just .232 while striking out in 31% of his at bats, but he's had little trouble getting on base, walking in 16% of his plate appearances, and taking walks in each of his last 5 games, 8 total. Taiwanese pitcher Wi Huang missed all of 2010 after pitching 17 innings in the GCL in 2009, and the 21 year old has tossed 3 scoreless innings so far this year.
DSL Braves 2, DSL Tigers 9, Game 1
Jose Peraza SS 2-4, RBI, .248 AVG
Roberto Estrella 3 IP, 4 R, 1 ER, 2 H, 2 BB, 1 K, 3.96 ERA
DSL Braves 2, DSL Tigers 6, Game 2
Jose Peraza SS 2-4, .255 AVG
Ibrahim McKenzie 1B 2-4, 2B, .207 AVG
Mauricio Cabrera 5 IP, 4 ER, 4 H, 3 BB, 3 K, 5.61 ERA
Jose Peraza went 4-8 in the double header, and the 17 year old Venezuelan continues to prove he's one of the more exciting prospects the Braves have way down south. 17 year old Dominican Maurico Cabrera is another exciting prospect, though it's not showing up in his numbers, as he's allowed a 5.61 ERA and a 1.51 WHIP in his first 33.2 innings of pro ball.
