Anyone ever had a centerfielder sneak up on a runner at 2nd for a pickoff?

Seems like it would have worked there, since the runner was taking such a big lead. You could even bait him to having the SS not pay much attention to him on the first couple pitches. Maybe tell the SS to fiddle with his glove or shoelaces for a second.

Good season, overall. I'm more pissed with their bullshit media contract than post-season failures, honestly. Mets are a Hell of a team and deserve this win. I credit the Phillies with unloading their trash on this team and the management for fielding those rookies in a crucial series who did complete dick for 'em.

Oh well.

Lots of changes incoming, biggest of which will likely be losing Greinke and canning Mattingly. At the end of the day I like Mattingly, I don't blame him, personally, that bullpen had been utter shit all year and he didn't have particularly great options overall, and the Mets just shut 'em down when it mattered.

Adios Utley, Rollins, etc.
