Yes, they have the home plate completely cleared so when you enter through home plate you can see all the way to center field.

Other things they are renovating are ALL concessions in the HP area, including a HUGE hot dog stand and nacho stand. Both are separate buildings and not on the normal vendor side. They are being setup against the outter gates.

Edit:  They are also extending out both dugouts to make room for the extra seating behind HP. We will lose around 5-6' of playing area being the plate for the new seats. The dugouts are being extended and remodeled to make it all look koshier.

He can also play first base and one of the corner outfield spots, but would most likely get the majority of his at-bats at DH. The Rangers have been looking for a DH after trading Michael Young to the Phillies and losing out on Josh Hamilton.
